Hives over the past 3 weeks

My daughter(5 years) has hives that have been coming and going over the past 3 weeks.

It started on 12 Jan(saturday) later afternoon with sizable swelling on the right foot under the base of the big toe, where by whe found it painful to walk. Later in the evening we noticed the hives beginning to develop on the legs and on the torso and little on the sides ot the face.

Sunday morning it was gone. Sunday evening it develops again an on monday morning her eyelids we swollen and her upper lip was swollen. I gave her a couple of doses of Apis. The swelling and the hives subsided.

Monday evening onwards she only developes the hives over the next 7-8 days and it gradually seemed to be going away. She has compalained of the base of her right thumb hurting a few times during these days.

Over the next few days the hives we almost negligible though not completely gone.

3 days ago in the evening the hives seem to have flared up again and she is having intese itching and it is mmostly over the legs and torso, sometime over the side of the face. I have started her on apis this morning and will do 4 doses today.

She also has a sever cough over the past 7 days which may be unrelated. The cough is almost relentless throguhout the day and some parts of the night. There is no expectoration, there was some(yellow) in the earlier stages of the cough. I am not able to figure ot exact symptoms on the cough, as to what makes it better or worse.

I have been using calamine lotion to stop the itching in case of the hives at night. The hives only seem to come in the evening around 8 pm. If it makes a difference we live in NJ, USA where its been pretty cold and we have bee indorrs mostly.
