Pl help-Is childhood asthma curable?
kid with this problem should not be sent to school is it?My son is 2.6 years old. we are residing in bangalore.
He has a tendency to catch cold very frequently and off late ended
in subsequent ear and throat infection. Till date he has had atleast
6 times ear and throat infection , mostly together.
This february he had a lower respiratory track infection and was hospitalized
for severe infection and wheezing.
Later this june this cold accompanied with wheezing reoccured.
He started going to a play class for 1 hour and he started catching infections frequently.
So we had to stop him from going out. As long as he is indoors he is fine.
The problem happens only when is exposed to school. Since both of us are working he really needs
to go out and have some activity. we live in a construction site so i dont let him go down to play.
Since that dust disturbs him a lot.
Couple of months back i started of with homeopathy treatment for him.
Biochemic salts like BC2 and BC6 along with tonsilat is being given to him.
Since then i started of with the medicine i feel the gradual improvement.
Apart from that i have the entire baby kit with me i stopped allopathy 4 months back and he is completely
in homeo medicine for all cold, cough, wheezing and fever. He respond well to these medicines.
Am looking for a long term solution to prevent this wheezing in future
His nature

1) every time he gets a cold it takes a full cycle of cough and takes atleast 10 days to get well
2) not a fussy eater , healthy otherwise and active
3) normal height weight
4)scared to go in dark
5)had eczema when he was 2 months old
6)does not like to be covered during sleep
7) sweats in his head
8)loves chocolate and sweet- at present i have stopped all this
9)likes to play around with kids , he is ok in terms of friendliness to strangers.
My questions are
1) should he be kept indoors while the treatment is going on, should i not send him to school
for even twice a week.
2) do these biochemic salts have effect if so what is the period generally
3)Kids geting cold is acceptable but every time it ends in a wheezing, does bc2 have effect on this
4) any other suggestions, your input is valuable to me.
Forgot to just mention one thing:
If he goes to school for a couple of days, late evening he starts sneezing continuously..
i try giving alliumcepa...but next day it becomes a severe cold and then cough ends in a wheezing.
This has been a standard pattern of cold for him.

- does it aggravate in hot weather or cold weather.
- does the wheezing occure while inhaling or exhaling or both.
- is there any expectoration.
- what is the colour and consistency of the phlegm.
- how is his thirst during these episodes.
- how does he behave during these episodes.
- what is the general mental nature of the child.
- what is the disease history of the family.
- do all cold and cough infections end up in his chest.
- is he a cold or a hot person.
- what time the wheezing is maximum.
- does it aggravate in hot weather or cold weather.
- does the wheezing occure while inhaling or exhaling or both.
- is there any expectoration.

- 3 days later the cold starts off, coughing starts and generally he starts wheezing late evening

-If we control wheeze initially with a couple of nebulizations he doesnt expectorate. But yes initially in the first two attacks he had..
-In general its whitish. This time when cold started off i gave him alliumcepa, it turned out to be greenish and i gave him pulsatilla.. still ended in wheezing
-normal. but after this episode he wakes up in early morning and asks for water , has it and then goes to sleep.
-restless, gets irritated and cries
-he is very independant, stubborn but can be diverted, very strong memory
-healthy parents, grandparents have sinus problem
-mostly yes
- his body is warm...

during wheezing you can give him IPECACUANHA 30C every four hours for 3 or 4 doses.
this should stop the wheezing gradually.
if the initial symptoms of cold are accompanied by sneezing, you may try ARS ALB 12C given every 4 hours for a day or two.

Astham can be controlled rahter then completely cured,however from childhood we take homeopathy defintely side effect will be very less with better control and resistance,It's always good to seek advise and opinion here,however better consult a good homeopathy doctor and then get medicin, speciall in case of child.I also live in Bangalore. My daughter also has severe cough in night and frequent cold, we take homepathy and now it is in better controll,however we have be carefull to avoid cold item, avoid friuts during rainy season,more ever Bnaglore weather is very allergic and asthamatic due to pollan,so may be think of migrating to other cities also.

In general as child grow the cold /asthama reduce gradually.However there was report by WHO agency last year in Bangalore 50 % child suffer from Asthamatic attacke, mainly seasonal and some choronic.You child defenitely has problem,however Bangalore weather increase that more.Here if you observe we have rain any time every timd,We have rain in winter also,even if u see today also it's cloudy.I am telling all this story becasue when ever we go out of Banglore, My daughter and me we live like any opther normal perosn eating any cold items/ fruit/ juice ect, sleeping in Fan.However when back to Bangalore, other that summer we are very selective and care full in eating along with taking Homoepathy medicin.

My Son is also suffering acutely from the same problem. Stopped School, taking hell lot of Allopathy meds, but no relief.
