Chronic Hives
I am 24 years old and I have been breaking out in hives daily for almost 2 years. I have eliminated almost everything from my diet trying to figure this out. I only eat meat, vegetables, and fruit with the occasional potato chip. I drink only water (lots of water) and coffee (black). Most of the foods that I consume are organic and I stay away from processed foods. I sometimes break out randomly, but mostly when I get exerted or hot. It has really hindered my lifestyle and I cannot currently exercise without breaking out and becoming inflammed. In the past I treated my body like an amusement park, so that probably has alot to do with my hives. I have always had allergy problems my entire life and I am looking for relief. I am not over weight and I am in very good shape. In the past I lifted weights alot so I have retained muscle mass even though I am currently not working out on a daily basis. I use all natural body wash and I live in a clean home. Please if anyone might know what is triggering this exercise induced urticaria I would appreciate your input. Thanksrapala on 2009-12-03

I have had allergies all my life and I have tried just about everything over the years. I have been to allergists, taken allergy shots and steroids. I went to a homeopath about 10 years ago and he cured my asthma for about 2 years using remedies. I didnt even carry my inhaler around with me during that time. I considered my self to be in good health after that and I didnt have problems for years until my outdoor allgeries began to get worse with things such as hay and grass.About a year after that I developed hives when ever I was active. From age 19 to 23 I was a considerably heavy drinker and tobacco user (dip). I was told that I am gluten intolerant and just about all the things that I crave are greasy foods, baked goods, and pizza. I dont currently crave them because its been 3 months since I have had anthing like that. currently I crave potato chips, it seems to be the only thing keeping me sane. I also crave coffee a few times a day, but other than that I try and eat fresh fruits and vegetables. I tend to be hard on myself and I am somewhat of a perfectionist. I am easily stressed and since I have had trouble working out I dont know how to channel my emotions. I prefer cold weather to hot because when I get overheated I tend to break out, sometimes it can act like a hot flash. I have enjoyed the outdoors all my life including hiking trips all up the east coast, whitewater rafting, caving, camping, snowboarding, hunting, and fishing. The only problem I have had doing any if these activities is my asthma, but it has never been hindering to my performance.
