Father had a Stroke
Hi, I wrote awhile back about my father who had a stroke a little over a year ago. 'Kadma' suggested he take nux vomica every 4 hours for 1 day and wait 7 days. It took sometime for my father to decide he would take the pills (since he was tired of taking medicine) but he finally said he would give this a try. So this past Monday was 7 days. I am not too sure of all the changes since I don't live where he is at. But my niece said that he did say the next day after taking them he thinks those little tablets made him feel better.He had smoked all his life but he did quit about 6 months ago. One of the big problems he is having now is alot of coughing. They get scared he is choking so that is a major issue. Also he was very angry and can be very nasty to others, family included.
I love love to take next steps with him and homeopathy to see if we can get him up and walking.

You may give him ipecac 30c thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours for 3 days and see whether it helps.
You may also procure the following tissue salts.
Natrum Sulph 6x
ferrum phos 6x
kali phos 6x
mag phos 6x
You may give him 1 tablet each of the above tissue salts four times a day at a gap of 3 hours if ipecac fails to give relief.

Thanks much, we will get the remedies and give it a try. Is this mainly to help with the coughing? Right before I saw you response I had a e-mail from my niece who said my father is wanting to move around, do some exercises, squats, etc. with their help. He is still paralyzed and until now had lost all motivation to try and get out of bed, even get in wheelchair to go outside, he wanted to do nothing. So this is a great sign that he is feeling better. My concern is that he is in a nursing home and really doesn't have the tools, support, etc. he needs to get more mobile but I am going to try and change that.
So is there anything to do for all the aches and pains he feels. In his 40's he started having back pain and later became a hermit in his room, curled up in a fetal position most of the time. He always complains of his shoulder, I think it is his Left one. That is feels like it is riding up and he needs to hold it down. He doesn't keep his neck upright. He also hates to have anything tight around his waist and many times wants to have his underwear pushed way down or not wear any. So the block he reaches is when he tries to walk, or have people help him use a walker is the complain about his shoulder and neck. So any suggestions for that?

The above remedies should give relief with the coughing. Nux Vomica is his constitutional remedy. You may give him Nux Vomica as follows. You have already given him the medicine for day 1. Now you should give him Nux Vomica on day 15 and day 30.
