Hydrastis - To Pankaj Varma/Sameer
My daughter had severe cough and cold from birth. Now she is 6 yrs old. Its cured with Phos and Tuberculinum. She is very lean; her weight is 14 kgs. I read in the book that - 'Hydrast ( to fatten patients after Tuberc.)'...Hyderstis to be used after Tuberc...to fatten the patient.Could you please suggest me in what potency should I use...for how long..?

Hydrastis...also known as Golden Seal ...is a liver remedy. Persons unable to digest food properly likely to have a week liver.
So it may help. You can give her Hydrastis 30c...3 pills ...3 times a day.
See how she responds and post feed back after one week.

Thanks Pankaj for the response. Will use Hydrastis as suggested and report you back.
I have a question. If symptoms fall under more than one remedy (say two)...how should I proceed? If those are not antidotes to one another, can keep the patient on both the remedies (if both are strongly indicated)? And keep increase potency for both the remedies step by step start with the low potency say 30c (for both of them)? Please suggest.
I see even homeo doctors these days giving 2 or 3 remedies to patient and ask them to take a dose one remedy in the morning, another remedy in the afternoon and another one in the evening.
Please suggest...

Ther are two different schools of homeopathy.
One is the Classical school...who believe in only one med. You have to have a lot of skills to arrive at the single appropriate med out of more than 5000 meds.
The beginners make mistakes...coz many meds look alike when you read the Materia Medica.
There are other homeopaths who believe in giving 2/3 complimentary meds.
Many people find benefits even through combination meds.
If your aim is to help the child gain weight....Alflafa tonic is very good. Increases appetite and helps to digest the food. Children who are on this tonic gain weight.

I used Hydrastis 30c for a week. Not found considerable change. I have been giving Alfalfa tonic which also has 5 phos, hydrastis, china etc. I read somewhere that - than alfalfa combinations better use alalfa Mother tincture.
Now, I got alfalfa Q. Could you please let me know how to use this alfalfa Q. Her age is 5 and 1/2 yrs.
She is also bed wetting. I have given china 30 c recently for a 3 days. Then for next two days she did not wet the bed. Again she started from last two days.
So, I think, she needs all of these - alfalfa, china, hydrastis and 5 phos.
Please suggest me how to use them. How to use Alfalfa Q.
