Passkey: Aural hematoma in feline

My cat has this on her left ear, the entire left ear is swollen with blood, so much so I am considering taking her to the vet to have it drained, but want to avoid this if possible.

She broke a blood vessel in her ear from shaking her head, from her ears itching and now she has this hematoma. Ear is hot, not red though, looks like a pillow filled with blood, a tinge purple, which is making me think of Lachesis.

I have read about Phosphorus and Lachesis for this also Arnica and some place else Ruta.

Any suggestions, would be grateful, cat is terribly miserable.

Bless,
NAMASTE

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Namaste, I've used Ledum and Anica, alternately, for the same thing on my dog. 30 potency thrice a day (i.e. three doses of each) at 2 hourly intervals to start with, decrease frequency of doses as haematoma reduces - should take a week or so.
Best regards.

hi, my cat has just developed the same thing and i have a couple of questions regarding treatment. this treatment is oral? i'm guessing it is but would like to be sure. secondly, i see in the post to use 30 potency thrice a day at 2 hour intervals but i don't know how much should be given. please help, i went through this with anouther cat and the vet bill was $600. i can't afford anouther hit like that but if i can't treat it myself, i am going to back to the vet.
thank you and bless,
alonso
