ear infection in adult

My friend (age 62) has an ear ifection. We used warm oliv oil put into the ear canal and a cotton ball to keep it from coming out. It helped her pain level but the canal seems to still be red. I would like to know what else we could be doing.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.

Ear infection and throat are interconnected. Was there any illness before the ear problem. Did she take any antibiotics?

It is unusual for one to have only an ear infection. Which side??

I assume she responds to warm, ie the warm olive oil. (this is what you pay a big price in the drug store, as "sweet oil").

Any other preferences or throat problems, headaches, skin problems? Hearing problems? Details...Sabra

Muellin Oil ....a homeopathic remedy is very effective. Drop it in the ear ...few drops every night and morning.

If there is pus coming out of the ear, in addition take internally Hepar Sulph. 200C morning and evening.....until better.
