He's quoting, not stating, Orume dear, so your concern is as misguided as always.
Lori, all advice you get is subjective, but I will add to what Astra and Walkin say. Please avoid antibiotics as far as possible (and it is far more possible than many people who worship allopathic quick fixes - with no idea of the harm they cause - believe). The thing with side effects is they are two-fold - one is the direct effect that will show up (as an allergy, say) and then there are the effects of the supression.
Find a good homeopath and invest the time it will take to cure the child. It is absolutely foolish and counter-productive to suggest that you use allopathy and homeopathy in conjunction, since it's like telling someone to push something into a bag, out of sight, and tell him/her at the same time to take it out.
Wish you and your daughter the best anyway. Good luck.

Minsa, there's no possible way that concern for any person's health could be misguided. How can you say caring about someone is misguided?!
Quoted or stated, doesn't matter. Whoever Walkin quoted (which should have been attributed to the original poster, imo) obviously needs support, and who are you to say who can or cannot lend it?
Honestly Minsa, if you dislike me or my point of view, I couldn't possibly care less. I am not here to please you, I am here to help those in need.
However, your continuously rude responses verge on breaking forum rules. Play nice. Don't go getting your username locked like a certain member we know.

Hi Lori: you may find it interesting.

Cases of Frequent Tonsillitis, saved from surgery
Case 1:
This is the case of Baby. M.A (Patient Ref. No. S-4325), a 9 years old girl who was brought to the clinic with the complaints of frequent colds and throat infections since childhood. She would get these attacks once every 2-3 months and the attacks would last about one week. The attacks would begin with irritation in the throat and she would develop pain in the throat. The pain would radiate to the ears and she would experience difficulty in eating and drinking during these attacks. She would occasionally develop fever with these complaints. She would also develop frequent colds wherein she would experience nose block and severe bouts of sneezing. Her complaints would get worse with cold food and drinks, in winter and after taking curds.
Her ENT doctor had strongly suggested to get the tonsils removed for which her parents were not ready. They chose to try homeopathy.
She was fond of chocolates, pastas, cheese and Chinese food. Her thirst was decreased. She would be frequently constipated. Sleep was good but she had history of getting fearful dreams. She was a pleasant child but would occasionally get irritated. Would not mix up easily with others and would take time for the same. She would feel hurt easily. She had fear of being alone and of darkness. She loved music and singing.
There was a strong history of frequent colds and allergies in the family (parents and grandfather and uncle).
On examination, she was found to have enlarged and inflamed tonsils. Marked congestion of the throat was noted.
Based on this study of her case, she was prescribed homoeopathic medicines for the same. She was put on Calcarea Carbonicum with intercurrent doses of a remedy called Tuberculinum during the treatment. She improved remarkably with the treatment and within one year of the homoeopathic treatment, the frequency as well as the intensity of her attacks was brought down. She would not require antibiotics anymore for her complaints. Her immunity was much better than before and she could now take cold food and drinks without fear of getting another attack of tonsillitis. Also she became much more tolerant of the weather changes and would not get frequent tonsillitis as before.
This is one of over 300 cases documented at our center, illustrating how homeopathy helps avoid surgery in most cases of frequent tonsillitis.
Case 2:
Master. S. M (Patient Ref. No. L-6917), a 14 years old boy was brought to the clinic by his parents for complaints of recurrent tonsillitis since childhood. Every 2-3 months he would develop tonsillitis and would require frequent courses of antibiotics. His complaints had become more frequent since last few months wherein he would get these attacks 1-2 times every month. His physician had advised him to go in for tonsillectomy due to these frequent episodes of tonsillitis.
The complaints would start off as pain in the throat and difficulty in swallowing. Later he would develop high grade fever (without any chills). Occasionally he would also develop lower respiratory tract infection whereby he would have cough with thick yellowish expectoration. His complaints would get triggered by cold drinks, ice-creams, bananas, colored foods, curd, buttermilk, etc. The throat pain would be worse in the morning and would get better as the day would pass. Body ache and weakness would be other common features during these attacks.
He also had complaints of premature graying of hair and dandruff since 3 years. Apart from this he had no other complaints and was a healthy boy with a good appetite. He was very fond of sweets, fried food and spicy stuff. He disliked vegetables, sour things and fruits. He had thirst for large quantities of water. He would sweat profusely all over the body and his perspiration would be offensive.
He was an average student but found it extremely difficult to concentrate on studies. He would not be able to sit for studies for more than 10-15 minutes at a stretch. His mind would be constantly engaged in some or the other thoughts. He would be so buried in thoughts that he would be totally inattentive to his surroundings. He liked company of people but had aversion to being in crowded places. He was an obstinate child and would get angry if he did not get what he desired. Whenever he would get angry, he would remain quiet and would not like to talk to anyone. He said that he would be unable to tolerate anything wrong happening around him and this would also make him very angry and he would fight for the right thing even if it did not concern him directly.
He had complaints of asthmatic bronchitis in childhood and had also suffered from tuberculosis in childhood.
Family history: Father had cervical and lumbar spondylosis and chronic sinusitis. His mother had hyperacidity and cervical spondylosis. Grandfather had bronchial asthma and diabetes. Grandmother had hypertension, ischemic heart disease and obesity.
On the basis of the above history, patient was prescribed a remedy Silicea in the 200th potency. At the end of 3 months, his complaints were significantly better than before. He did not have any major episode of tonsillitis except for mild throat pain a couple of times. There was no cough or fever during these episodes and the problem subsided in 2-3 days without any use of antibiotics. His general immunity was much better than before and he could tolerate foods that caused him problems in the past. He had to continue treatment for some more time to get rid of this problem completely. Thus overall he did very well with the treatment and was saved from surgery as well as repeated courses of antibiotics that would give him only temporary relief.
Remark: The remedy prescribed in these cases is patient-specific i.e. it has been prescribed based on the symptoms specific to the patient at that point of time. It is advisable that the patient does not indulge in any self-medication.

Orume, no reason why you should (care whether anyone dislikes your point of view.) - and the thing is you often have sensible suggestions to make. HOWEVER, when you make statements that are obviously (well, to be fair, to me, and maybe others too)contrary to the very principles of homeopathy - on a homeopathic forum, pardon if I bristle. I see nothing rude in what I wrote - no ruder than any comments you have made in posts where you state that homeopathy makes little sense to you.
Kindly do not threaten me with expulsion from this forum. It won't bother me any more than my alleged dislike of certain comments you make bothers you. Frankly, I don't like this sniping - its only that something you say might MISGUIDE a person looking for help - and if what I said in the earlier post offended your sense of concern, I'm sorry - I guess you do mean well.
