Frustrated with Melasma

I have melasma on my upper part of my cheeks, on the sides of my eyes, upper lip, forehead and on top of my nose. On top of my nose seems to be fading. It is very embarassing since I am a consultant and have to look for new contracts every so often, it is hard for me to face the person I am talking to, feel very conscious of myself. I am 52 years old, working as a Software consultant and have been going through peri-menopause/menopause since 2 years. I have been having hemorroids as well, for which I am taking homeopathic medication. I am quite active, usually exercise 6-7 hours a week. Average at least 5 hours. So I am in no way sedentary. I eat quite healthy vegetarian diet, including diary products. Not a big eater. I have tried hydro quinone based topical cream prescribed by a dermatologist about 2 years ago, to no avail. I don't want to do any those treatments that can make my skin vulnerable to skin issues. As such I am very light skinned. Would prefer doing natural treatments. Just today upon reading online, started on the Apple Cider Vinegar/Onion juice combo treatment for my face. Keeping my fingers crossed and determined to try for at least a few months.

Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lotus

Hunger- I don't feel hungry all the time, if that is what you are asking. My appetite is quite less. One possible reason could be that I am the last of 10 pregnancies for my mother. She had me when she was ~43 years old. So nutrition wise not much passed on to me and as an infant to toddler and a few more years I was prone to getting fevers all the time. I don't know if all this had an affect on me to curb my appetite or not...
Food habbit - Due to the fact that I don't have a big appetite, I don't eat a lot. And many a times I can go by skipping a meal entirely. At other times I feel I want to munch this or that often. I am vegetarian with occasional use of eggs. I do drink about 6-7 ounces of milk at night and drink about a cup of indian tea morning and afternoon. Then on weekends a cup of coffee in the mornings. I like cooking so we eat mostly home cooked meals. I do get creative and cook other ethnic vegetarian dishes at times. Very rare we go out to eat. I am married and have 2 children. My daughter is like me in built short and thin, my son is quite tall and quite well built. My husband is not too tall and is ok built for his height. I eat a piece of toast and drink cup of tea for breakfast, for lunch may be a cup of Greek yogurt with a a little granola. Sometimes I do skip lunch. At other times, eat may be like a fruit and some nuts. Then for dinner with the family I eat brown (basmati) rice and sambar/rasam with/without curry (the dry curry SouthIndian kind). Then w/e I make brunch by making idli or dosa around 11 am and then have a snack with tea in the evening and the usual dinner at night.
Thirst - I don't feel unusually thirsty or anything like that. I force myself to keep hydrated by drinking warm water, which otherwise I would not drink at all. I dont drink juice or anything like that, although here in the US we get plenty of packaged juices. Once is while very rare that I drink Cranberry/Raspberry juice.
Bowl movement - I used to have constipation growing up, but since we came to the US 24 years ago, its not there. Occasionally when I am not well or something like that does it occur. Regular movement not very loose once in the morning occasionally twice in the day.
Other issues- I am going through menopause (I am 52 years old). I am still getting on and off my periods which is very painful as always with cramps, even though the flow itself is not much. I have been having melasma since almost 4 1/2 years (my guess is the onset of peri menopause). I do have hemorrhoids (pileslike condition) which has been very painful and has gotten slightly better with homeopathy medication. I have quite a bit of stress at home with various issues and was told that could be the cause of hemorrhoids aggravation. I always as far as I can remember, have had very dry and sensitive skin. Other problems like occasional dry cough, cold, headaches, fever occur. The onion juice with apple cider vinegar I had to stop as I couldn't stand the smell. Other than that I am a very emotional person and take things very personally and seriously. I do keep a medium active life style with an average of 6-7 hours of exercise per week along with working around the house.

LotusShiv,

if you think images are attached as
zipped file on this post- don't think
that is working.

You can click on Dr. Showrav name and
send the images to his email - with
a email headline- saying - FORUM and
the title of your post, that way it won't
confuse.

Hi Dr. Showrav,
Thanks for getting back to me. I would appreciate if I would be able to buy the medicines online through your site, that way I can pay the cost of medications and your prescription fee etc., online via credit card. I am not too comfortable with your suggestion in doing money transfers etc., I hope you understand.

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Lotus
