my ten month old suffering from hydrocephalus
Hi,I am glad I can contact you people online because I am all the way in Nigeria.
My baby was born with spina bifida and had a repair done on her spine and subsequent ETV in her brain a few weeks later. She's okay now. She doesn't have sunset eyes and can move her legs pretty well, only she hardly moves her feet and toes and can't stand even though she's ten months old. But the biggest problem is the size of her head. It measures 21inches, above the 95th percentile for her head. Her doctors say she's okay but I am not satisfied. The bones in her forehead still haven't closed and sometimes it swells and other times it goes down. Her bones also are very weak. I'm worried. I don't want her to have a shunt due to the lifelong complications.
What do you suggest she takes since she is not showing any serious hydrocephalus symptoms except the large head?
Thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give her Calc.Carb.30 five drops once a day for atleast 4weeks and see the response.

She tries to crawl; lifting her whole body but not being able to lift her head up. I encourage her to stand but without my support from her waist behind, she can't stand, even if holding on to something in front of her.
As for her food habits, she feeds well, loves to drink water, plays a lot, is able to identify and point at certain objects, can roll all over the bed, is not fussy at all, claps, dances to particular songs, sings herself to sleep sometimes... She's generally normal but the head size is not normal. She weighs 11.7kg and is 29.6inches tall.
I hope I have given relevant information.
And oh! Her toilet habits are quite normal because I see her try to push her butt out when she wants to fart or stool and she's quite uncomfortable.
Thanks.
