Constitutional remedy
Hi,I am new to this thread and recently going through a health issue. Just wanted to know what is the difference between constitutional remedy and the remedies given in this forum which are just for a day or week. Is the constitutional remedy to be taken over a longer duration.
Thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Constitutional remedy is sort of a misnomer.
Hahnemann wrote about chronic prescribing and acute prescribing.
Acute remedies are matched to the symptoms of acute illness,
( which is recent, self limiting, like cold, flu, accident, etc)
Chronic prescribing remedies are matched to your totality of symptoms
as in physical, mental, emotional, better by, worse by, thermal preferences,
etc.
Both work due to the law of like cures like. When you have a good match,
the body will not accept the similar. The body raises the life force to
clear imbalance. Remedies do not do the work, they are a stimulus
for your life force to do it.
When a remedy is active, one does not take more unless you start
to go backwards. Dosing and potency of remedies are called posology
and are an entire course of study.
Once you start to feel well, there is usually no need to take the remedy,
and in chronic illness, what you took last year can be different
if you become ill again-depending on the current symptoms.
