Swollen lymph nodes on back of head
Hey,I'm hoping someone can suggest a remedy to help me with these symptoms.
The lymph nodes on the back of my head are swollen and the one on the right is much larger than the left. I also have a few pimple like bumps on the back of my head and neck. Some in the hairline and some just below. When this flairs up I also notice the skin in the affected area has an oily/waxy feel to it. The area is also a bit itchy. Nothing extreme or intense.
This may or may not be related but when the above symptoms occur I also get several pimple like bumps on my back along with an increased itchiness.
The above symptoms tend to come and go throughout the year and seems to get worse during stressful times. Occasionally the pimple like bumps at and below my hairline are tender and easily inflamed if I accidentally scratch the area too hard or even when the collar of my shirt rubs on them.
It's been going on for a few years and I when to a physician one time and he said it was probably folliculitis and recommended warm packs and cortisone cream. He said he really doubted that stress was related to the symptoms. The warm packs and cortisone didn't seem to reduce the symptoms or speed up the healing other than reducing the itching slightly.
I am a male, age 49. Slightly over weight with no major health issues.
Any recommendations or advise will be greatly appreciated.
