Is rose water safe for the eyes?
I have read in a number of beauty magazines that washing your eyes with rose water helps with keeping them healthy and fresh. However, the rose water I buy is usually packaged. Is it still safe to use?tosee2020 on 2020-08-25
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please leave your eyes alone unless you have to rinse them with water due to irritant getting in them. They are trying to sell rose water- not safe.

Dear ToSee2020:
Blessings.
1) Rosewater is made from hips or rosebuds.
2) It is mildly astringent (means the mucous membrane shrinks or
gets closer, helping in stopping bleeding etc.).
3) The buds have some anti-inflammatory properties.
Meaning, inflamed parts of body get healing, as more
blood flows to inflamed part.
3) Rosewater has been used for uplifting spirits too.
In some countries, it is used for mild depressions.
Blessings,
PSC

Buying rose water is not safe for eyes. Other things are in it and or the rose water is a chemical copy of the scent.

Simone, it depends on where you get it. In France they sell 100% organic rose water, no added scent, aroma or any other ingredient.
Whether it's good or bad for the eyes, that I don't know. It's better to leave them alone.
But yes rose water is great for the skin, it starts glowing within days and pores become tighter, i have myself experienced it.
