Homeopathic approach to schizophrenia
Hello, I have recently been diagnosed with the beginning phase of a psychotic disorder, possibly schizophrenia. I want to give myself the best chance at overcoming this illness, so I plan to combine conventional treatment with homeopathy. Unfortunately, I cannot see a homeopath right now due to financial reasons, so I am hoping to receive recommendations from experienced people based on my history. I can provide more details if needed. Any insight is appreciated!**Background Information:**
1. **Age, Sex, Weight, Country, Occupation:**
20, male, 50 kg, Poland, currently studying.
2. **Body Type:**
Tall and skinny.
3. **Main Complaints and Associated Troubles:**
- Disorganized thinking
- Random words popping into my mind
- Songs getting stuck in my head
- Difficulty expressing my thoughts when speaking
- Occasional minor hallucinations
- Anhedonia
- Intense anxiety
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder
- Persistent restlessness
- Depersonalization and derealization
4. **Conditions That Reduce Complaints:**
- Drinking cold beverages
- Physical activities
- Eating hearty food
5. **Conditions That Increase Complaints:**
- Hot weather and beverages (coffee worsens my symptoms)
- Exposure to sunlight
- Symptoms worsen in the evening and after waking up
6. **Other Complaints:**
- Chronic swelling of the lymph nodes (mainly on the left side)
- Weak immune system
- Blurry vision and astigmatism
- Mouth twitching
- General weakness
- Excessive sleepiness and difficulty waking up
- Poor memory
7. **Onset of Troubles:**
I have experienced symptoms like anxiety and OCD for as long as I can remember. My condition remained stable until a few years ago when memory issues began, followed by anhedonia, disorganized thinking, and depersonalization/derealization.
8. **Current Treatment and Results:**
- Seroquel 50 mg: I have been taking this for a few years, originally prescribed for anxiety. It helps me fall asleep.
- Calcarea Carbonica 30 CH: Unfortunately, I have seen no effects from this.
9. **Family History of Diseases:**
There is a heavy genetic burden regarding mental illness in my family, with both depression and anxiety present on both sides.
10. **Childhood Background:**
I was a strange kid with few friends and many unusual interests. I had a difficult relationship with my father, which at times bordered on abusive.
11. **Academic Performance:**
I was considered gifted, but my academic performance has declined with age.
12. **Major Life Incidents:**
I was in a committed relationship where my partner cheated on me, which still affects me—I have nightmares about it even though it happened two years ago. My father was physically abusive once, and I struggle to view him the same way since.
13. **Current Relationships:**
I am currently in a good relationship with my girlfriend. I have a few strong friendships, and I maintain a positive relationship with most of my family.
14. **Habits/Addictions:**
Luckily, I have no addictions.
15. **Appetite and Thirst:**
My appetite varies, but I experience intense thirst that is hard to quench.
16. **Food Preferences:**
- **Likes:** Meats (especially chicken and fish), crispy fried foods, garlic, onion, tea (hot and cold), fruits like mango and papaya.
- **Dislikes:** Vinegar and most potato dishes.
17. **Bowel Movements:**
My metabolism is quick; I typically defecate twice daily. I often experience flatulence, sometimes with intense pain.
18. **Urine:**
My urine is usually watery, and I often feel that my bladder is not fully emptied after urination.
19. **Sleep Patterns:**
I usually go to bed around 11 PM. My sleep is restless, filled with nightmares, and I wake up anxious. If I dont sleep for about 12 hours, I find it very hard to get up in the morning.
20. **Sweating:**
I sweat a lot, particularly under my arms, but the odor is not pronounced.
21. **Fears and Anxiety:**
I am generally very anxious, worrying about my health and its impact on my relationships. I also have a fear of the dark and sleep with a lamp on when alone.
22. **Personality:**
I often feel lost in my thoughts and overly concerned about what others think of me. I struggle with self-esteem and frequently question my intelligence.
