Nursing and sinus infection treatment
Hi, I am nursing and want to self treat my apparent sinus infection, but am unsure of the effects on my 15 lb. 11 mo. old baby. We each have a cold virus, but mine has apparently progressed to sinus infection, mega headache, aching neck and shoulders.I have Children's Alpha CF homeopathic meds for Colds and Flu, which has the following: (HPUS) aconitum nappellus 7x, bryonia alba 7x, eupatorium perfoliatum 7x, gelsemium sempervirens 7x, phosphorus 12x. Is it okay to take this? I have already taken about 2 tablets, which seemed to help a few minutes, anyway. My headache, at the top of my head (original soft spot) is still harassing me though.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
my suggestion is discontiue use of the mentioned product..
yes, child is effected when nursing--child and mother are treated simultaneously when remedy is administered only to mother--which is the adviable method when nursing..this is no problem for two are linked til weaned---health is combined as such...
what makes head pain worse?
what make shead pain feel better?
what are exact symptomology concrning sinus-infection (besides mega headache)?
what association is there between "ache in neck and shoulders" and "mega headache"?
how stool and urination been effected?
how has thirst and hunger/appetite been effected?cravings?aversions?
please explain thoroughly child's symptomology as currently observed..

Thank you for your quick response.
Our symptoms are as follows:
Baby (She seems to be doing fine):
1. Insisted on nursing all night and being close to mommy.
2. Problems sleeping, heavier breathing while asleep.
3. Still sticking everything in her mouth, especially paper. Still smiling at attention.
4. One or two sneezes this night, none this morning.
5. Yesterday her nose ran thickly and clear, constantly up into the night. There was a little white color in the evening. Today, her nose is not running.
5. She was able to sleep when taken on a walk yesterday. She enjoyed being out.
6. She must be tired, and under her eyes she has little bags. Her eyes are clear, the bags are just a little red near the eyes.
7. She is NOT pulling her ears. She seems to be playing without complaint.
Mom:
1. Viral cold seems to have cleared. Post nasal drip eliminated, sneezing stopped).
2. Sinus infection: Lower jaw pain, close to joints. Sharp pressure between eyes. Nose currently free, sinuses on my left of nose a little heavy. Neck very stiff, so that I don't want to turn neck. Neck pain primarily lower, close to body and shoulder. Currently a little drip running down front of my throat.
3. Headache: Started last Friday with a feeling something was atop my head needing to be brushed off. Today head is heavy, neck stiff, and I imagine (?) that I have bumps on it that were not there before above my left side of forehead and by my old soft spot. Seems to get worse with worry and when I contemplate the work and duties ahead. When I turn my head, it seems that headache responds in kind to the irritation of moving my neck. The space between my shoulders and neck seems to be very tense.
4. Lymph nodes on neck are swollen, especially on right side.
5. Being outside seems like it helps me.
6. My throat is a bit bothersome and scratchy warm, but not like a painful strep throat as I've had in the past. I'm feeling internally warm, and speaking is not fun but rather tiring and laborious, my voice just seems croaky and blocked. I happen to sometimes stutter, especially when not confident, but now it seems my voice is just generally blocked up even when I am speaking without stuttering.
7. Thirst and hunger: I was thirsty at the beginning of my cold, now my thirst is more muted. Now I have been more hungry. I have only had soup, and today I wanted to have some clear, savory broth again, directly having finished off some barley stew. I have wanted a bit of chocolate as well. Drinking, I have been taking juice, as the water is not very tasty. I am averse to sour tastes or dairy.
8. Stool and urination: Seems normal. After pregnancy, I seem to have to go more often and insistently. With this cold, that instinct seems to be dampened. Urine pale.
9. Psychologically: Stressed from new job in difficult public school teaching environment. Fear of failure as disciplinarian, want to be liked by kids, find that some students are disrespectful and hard to rein in. Like my baby, I just want to play, rather than work!
I hope this is thorough enough.

Oops, I fogot to add:
My left hand thumg and index fingernails hasve a small black-brown line. On the index it is just a needle point, on thumb almost gnat-size.
I read once this is indicative of infection.
Also, I feel a bit woozy when getting up and down, and my throat seems to be getting worse, on right side front and back. Maybe it is post-nasal drip, as my nose seems to be bothering once more.

Hi, I went and bought the suggested meds but have some questions: is not 200C a lot to take for the first time, for how can anyone be certain?
Also, I do not have all the symptoms listed under materia medica for the meds. And some just do not fit, such as not liking being outside... I feel better outside and I don't have abdomen problems.
And I read somewhere on the net that someone using nux vomica should be dark haired and malicious and quick tempered. I am blonde, over-nice, but sometimes temperamental about real problems. Although, some of the symptoms listed on materia medica could apply, such as stammering.
If it is the wrong med, then is it dangerous? I also looked at mercurius, since I have a filling that has been leaking for some time and wonder if that is something to consider.
I am nervous about taking the meds.

You don't have to have all the symptoms mentioned in the materia medica. No single person will ever have all the symptoms.
Don't start using homeopathy, by just reading a materia medica book. You need to understand the Philosophy also.
If you can afford a software,Hompath Classic 8.0 is a good one,and it has got around 300 books to read.
You are still in too early a stage to try self medication.
That too when you are breast feeding.
Take the advice of a good homeopath.
