Itchy ears
Hi there, can anyone help me with a remedy for an itchy right ear?I have a peforated ear drum - long standing from a grommet operation about 7 years ago.
Its never given me any trouble until six months ago when I got a big infection around the little peforation.
The specialist says it doesn't look infected anymore and a MRI has ruled out a cholestomea. HOWEVER, my right ear is so itchy and occasionally has little jabby pains. Its awful. I have had cinnabar onyx in the past which was useful but not recently, and I've tried some belladonna and pulsatilla. Any advice?

I suggested H Sulph because of little jabby pain, indicating start of suppuration.

Thanks heaps for the advice, will try both things.
I'm not sure why its itchy, but I have noticed that my ear is very dry, I've not had any wax to remove for a while now. I also have a frequent roaring in my head - not in my ears, although thats where i hear it.
Any further advice appreciated.

For dry ear itching, glycerine/water 50/50 by volume is best. Glycerine attracts moisture from the atmosphere and prevents dryness.
Your sentence regarding roaring in head but not in ear is not clear. Please give symptom in detail.

Thanks Sahai, unfortunately I can not put anything liquid in to my ear because of the ear drum hole.
I think what I'll do is go to a homeopath for a constitutional remedy and get all my probs sorted at once.
THanks very much for the advice sor far.

Dear Sezza,
I noted you have a perforated ear drum. As such, droplet instillation into the ear is to be avoided. I have been using Mullerian Oil for patients with ear problems. In your case, please DO NOT INSTILL DROPLETS INTO THE EAR but just plug your ears with Mullerian-oil soaked cotton plugs, in the external auditory canal. It helps.
With regards
Lew

Hi Lew, thank you for the advice. I have the mullein oil. Do I put it a completely soaked ball in my ear - meaning some oil might drip down the ear canal, or do I make sure the bit closest to my ear is dry?
Thanks

Dear sezza,
Please soak the cotton bud
in the Mullein Oil, then squeeze it dry before inserting
it into the external auditory
canal. Keep it there over night. Repeat the process daily for a week. I am sure you will have good results.
